Mostly seed bead earrings, all designed and woven by me, with the occasional polymer clay pair thrown in the mix. Bead weaving is an ancient practice that has sprung up in societies throughout the world over the centuries. It was practiced in Mesopotamia, showed up in Europe as early as the 14th century, and has deep roots in many Native American and First Nations cultures. I love how the different styles, color and pattern influences, and stitches often reflect something about the place they were born. And I love how they interact now, to say something new about the present weavers, though we are not yet sure what that is.
