CSGV’s guiding principle is simple: We believe that all Americans have a right to live in communities free from gun violence. We pursue this goal through policy development, strategic engagement, and effective advocacy.
CSGV is a thought leader in the modern gun violence prevention movement. Drafting, passing, and implementing evidence-based legislation is our number one priority. While legislative gridlock has largely stymied gun legislation at the federal level, CSGV has worked hard to secure major victories in the states. In recent years, we have worked with scientific experts to develop the Gun Violence Restraining Order (GVRO), a law that allows law enforcement and family members to temporarily remove firearms from a loved one in crisis.
Our commitment to addressing gun violence in all its forms — from suicide to intimate partner homicide to the shootings that never make headlines — sets us apart.

Victim Support (VS) is the independent charity for people affected by crime and traumatic events in England and Wales. Our specialist teams provide individual, independent, emotional and practical help to enable people to cope and recover from the effects of crime.
We’re not part of the police, the courts or any other criminal justice agency. Our services are free and available to everyone, whether or not the crime has been reported and regardless of when it happened.
Last year we offered support to 814,000 people. With over 40 years’ experience as the leading independent victims’ charity, we know the impact that crime has on people’s lives and what it takes to help them get their lives back on track.
We work locally to support people affected by crime, and campaign nationally to put their needs first, ensuring that they get the support they need and the respect they deserve. Together, we help people feel safer and find the strength to move forward after crime.

Technology is an asset to combat the sexual exploitation of children. When we harness the best and brightest minds in this field, we can develop new technologies and tools that change lives. We are focused on delivering tools to better identify victims and connect them with resources, deter predatory behavior, and disrupt environments where abuse takes place.

When tested, DNA evidence contained inside rape kits is an invaluable investigative tool to solve and prevent crime. It can identify an unknown assailant, reveal serial offenders, and bring opportunities for justice and healing to survivors.
To accomplish these things, however, rape kits must be tested.
END THE BACKLOG is an initiative of the Joyful Heart Foundation to shine a light on—and eliminate—the backlog of hundreds of thousands of untested rape kits in the United States.
